Who can benefit?
Most people can benefit from osteopathy.
Babies and Children
At this practice we are experienced in the treatment of babies and young children. Gentle osteopathic treatment often proves effective in the release of unresolved mechanical strain experienced at birth. Children usually respond very quickly to treatment. Joanna Hyne holds a specialist diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy and has worked at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in London (now the Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy).
Pregnant Women
We can treat women in various stages of pregnancy. Treatment is obviously gentle and safety is always our first concern. Periodic treatment during pregnancy can help the body adjust to the increasing weight and changing posture. A mobile back and pelvis can reduce the discomfort level of the later stages of pregnancy, and even labour! We can also assist with the recovery period following birth when the pelvis and lower back are readjusting to the altered stresses and strains.
Elderly
Elderly patients are welcome. Advancing age usually makes one more susceptible to strains. Problems such as osteoporosis and spondylosis are obviously taken into consideration and great care is directed to applying gentle treatment to relieve symptoms.

Sports Men and Women
All our practitioners are experienced in dealing with sports injuries. We can give advice regarding training and rehabilitation. We can advise on supports and strapping.
