Making an Appointment

  • Please note that by booking an appointment at this practice, you are liable for the fee of £35 for adults and children
  • We regret that, due to the high demand for consultation time, fees for missed appointments will be charged at the full rate.
  • We would also ask that when cancelling an appointment you give as much notice as possible.
  • When booking your appointment, please advise the receptionist if you wish to see a specific practitioner.
  • Also please tell her if you are intending to make a health insurance claim in respect of your treatment.
  • We are always happy to provide receipts for payment of fees, should these be necessary. We can either provide hand written receipts after each consultation, or if a typed statement would be more appropriate, we can provide these also, either on the day of the appointment, if notice has been given, or sent on later by post.

Payment by Private Health Insurance

If you are intending to claim the cost of your treatment on a private health insurance policy, you will need to contact your insurers prior to your appointment to ascertain whether :-

  • 1. You are covered for Osteopathic treatment.
  • 2. The Osteopath you are intending to see is recognised by your Insurers.
  • 3. You need to be referred by a G.P.
  • 4. Your claim form requires a signature from your G.P., or whether your Osteopath can sign it.
  • 5. You have a limit to the number of osteopathic treatments covered.
  • 6. You have a limit to the number of weeks over which you may receive osteopathic treatment.
  • 7. Your policy has an excess (which you must pay direct to us).
  • 8. You have sufficient cover remaining to ensure that you do not exceed your insured limit, thereby incurring charges payable by yourself.

ALL INSURANCE POLICIES ARE DIFFERENT, SO PLEASE CONTACT YOUR OWN INSURERS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO CHECK THE DETAILS SPECIFIC TO YOUR POLICY.

It is important to note that you are liable for any fees that are not covered by your insurance policy.

Direct Payment by Insurance Companies

  • The normal policy is for the patient to pay for each consultation, a receipt will be issued (see above) and the fees may be reclaimed from your Insurance Company.
  • We do not claim monies direct from the insurance company. You will need to pay your treatment costs at the time of treatment and then, with receipts, reclaim the money from your insurer yourself.
